Article: England v Pakistan Test Series
England v Pakistan Test Series
By BigjoeCommences 29th July 10.30 BST
England start this series as hot favourites and will be feeling confident after a recent surge in all formats. They comfortably beat Pakistan in the previous Test series here 3-0, a series infamous for the Darryl Hair ball tampering controversy at the Oval.
Pakistan though will represent a tougher test this time. They will have been encouraged enormously by finally winning a Test match against Australia. 15 years of hurt was rectified with that win last week and I believe that will be the catalyst for a stronger, more consistent Pakistan in the future.
New skipper Salman Butt demonstrated the qualities that have for so long deserted previous captains and he seems to be the perfect choice to lead this young side to great things. At his disposal he has, arguably, the best Test bowling attack in world cricket at the moment. The experience of Asif, Gul and Kanaria backed up by the amazing emerging talent that is Mohammed Aamir.
The conditions in England will be ideally suited to this balanced bowling attack and that is the main reason why I feel the market has got this one woefully wrong. I believe that it’s Pakistan that should be the short priced favourites for this series. With that win against Australia behind them, with a couple of Tests experience in English conditions under their belt, I believe Pakistan will go from strength to strength and win this series comfortably.
My suggested bets therefore are:
In The Series Outright Market:
BACK Pakistan to win for 5 points @ 5.5 at Extrabet
In The Series Correct Score Market:
BACK Pakistan to win 2-0 for 2 points @ 21.0 Bet365, Totesport, Extrabet
BACK Pakistan to win 3-0 for 1 point @ 51.0 at Sportingbet
BACK Pakistan to win 2-1 for 1 point @ 15.0 Extrabet, Sportingbet
BACK Pakistan to win 4-0 for 1 point @ 126.0 at Totesport.
