Article: India v Australia Test Series
India v Australia Test Series
By Big JoeCommences Friday 1st October.
This was originally scheduled to be an ODI series only, but the Australians agreed to amend it to include two tests and 3 ODI’s. This would suit both sides as India continue to consolidate their No1 Test ranking and the Aussies would be presented with ideal competitive preparation for their all important Ashes series coming up against the old enemy England.
The series kicks off in Mohali, a ground where India have not lost a Test since 1994 and where only 2 years ago, the Aussies suffered a 320 run defeat against India during their 2-0 series loss.
Whilst India have stormed to the top of the rankings, Australia have been very inconsistent in the Test arena. An impressive away series win in South Africa, followed by the loss of the Ashes in England and in their most recent series, the Aussies could only manage a drawn series against a Pakistan side in turmoil on neutral territory in England.
I believe this series will see India dominate once again. Virender Sehwag , Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman are all in prime form, as is the newcomer to the block, Suresh Raina. The Aussies, in contrast, have seen Ricky Ponting, Michael Hussey and Michael Clarke show indifferent form in recent series and their bowling attack on these Indian pitches is unlikely to pack much of a punch.
Overall I am confident that India will win the series comfortably and it will not surprise me to see them repeat their 2-0 series win from 2008. Therefore my suggested bets for this series are:
In The Series Outright Market:
BACK India to win for 5 points @ 3.0 at Stan James
In The Series correct Score Market:
BACK India to win 2-0 for 2 points @ 9.5 at Bet365 and Sportingbet
