Article: This Week's Rugby League
Unfortunately no bets in Super League this weekend, hopefully the Championship games will allow a wager.
An intriguing game for tonight's Sky game between St.Helens and Bradford. If we take last week's results in isolation then a massive Saints win is on the cards. However, I don't believe Bradford can be that bad again. They have had a full seven days to recover against the five for St.Helens and surely their pride will ensure a performance.
That said St.Helens can blow away even the best of teams and this is a really hard game to get a handle on.
I've still got to try and price this up though and I'm not one to get too carried away. I'm quite happy to play layer on Betfair and take on Saints on the 22.5 handicap market at the 1.87 mark. My money's been tickled already and I expect it all to go by kick off as the television betting junkies go for the obvious big Saints win.
In Saturday's televised game we have Salford against Hull. These two met at the KC stadium a few weeks ago in the Challenge Cup and Salford came away with a shock win that has seemed to kick start their season. They followed up with a win against Warrington and the biggest shock of the season with a win at Leeds. Back down to earth with a big defeat at Catalan but it was always going to be tough to back up an Easter campaign with a trip to France.
Hull got off to a very bright start but appear to be going backwards with six straight defeats following their opening five match winning run. They remain competitive having a few close defeats but seem to have problems getting over the try-line.
Again I'm playing on Betfair. My handicap was Salford +4.5. With most of the layers going +2 or +4 I'm not tempted to be a backer at 1.91 as the line isn't far enough away from mine but I will give even money away to any Salford backers on the +2.5 handicap line.
