Doncaster -10 v Swinton 2pts @ 1.91 Bet365,
Last time out I watched Swinton at Barrow as they shipped in 70pts and it was probably the worst tackling performance I've seen from a professional team. There is unrest amongst the fans and they want the coach's head on a plate. The expected return of Wayne English at full-back may stiffen things up to a degree but if Doncaster perform anything like they can they will win with ease. The doubts I have about this all relate to their last fixture. It is only three days since their mauling in the Northern Rail cup final and they will obviously be deflated. They may find it hard to mentally get up for this fixture. However, if they are to harbour any automatic promotion dreams they really need to. Playing Salford always seems to knock the energy levels out of teams as they have to contend with fitter, stronger full time rivals. I'm taking it a little bit on trust that they are able to raise their game. Even taking these factors in to consideration I had this one as Doncaster by 16-18pts.
Halifax -6 v Leigh 3pts @ 1.91 Totesport
Halifax off scratch 4pts @ 1.5 Totesport
I really do like the look of this fixture. To me the handicap is simply wrong. Totesport are the only firm up but I'm not hanging about to what I believe is a rick. I've been mulling over my tissue for a couple of days and couldn't decide between 14pts or 16pts and now I see 6pts on offer. Quite simply, Halifax are better than that. They are probably in the best form of all the National League sides and are playing exciting, high scoring rugby with the old master Graham Holroyd pulling the strings. Leigh are a mid table outfit who have proven to be nothing special this term.
I don't normally advise on the match odds market but because I believe the handicap is wrong then in turn the match odds are too. I would be pricing the match odds as a layer around the 1.16 region. 1.5 is just wrong.
