The Overrule: ATP & WTA Miami

The match of the day sees Justine Henin take on Elena Dementieva, but for tipping purposes, The Overrule's attention is focused elsewhere. David Nalbandian is on the comeback trail from injury, having successfully helped Argentina into the last eight of the Davis Cup. Nalbandian played with the hindrance of injury during Davis Cup but looked to be pain free at Indian Wells and in his first round win over Lukasz Kubot. This time last year, Nalbandian produced one of the worst performances of his career against Viktor Troicki, but he can gain a measure of revenge over the Serbian on Friday. Nalbandian leads the head to head 2-1.

Nicolas Almagro was forced to retire against Andy Murray at Indian Wells last week, but the Spaniard should have more than enough to handle Eduardo Schwank, providing an injury recurrence doesn’t occur. Almagro will enjoy the slower conditions in Miami and can improve his 1-1 record with Schwank. On the women’s side of things, Alisa Kleybanova and Dominika Cibulkova look decent prices to see off Sara Errani and Sofia Arvidsson, respectively. Errani is a tough cookie, but the Italian doesn’t have the power to trouble Kleybanova - who should bludgeon her way to victory. It will give Errani a chance to continue practicing her football skills once she is knocked out of singles play.



Cibulkova has grinded her way to a semi-final and two quarter-finals this season, and although she’ll never be able to consistently hurt the top players in the women’s game, she’ll enjoy the match up with Arvidsson. The Swede made the final of Memphis a few weeks ago before being soundly thrashed by Maria Sharapova. The draw for that event was very weak, although she did record a notable victory against Melanie Oudin.

The Overrule will continue the policy of only backing match bets with bookmakers who void on retirements at any stage of the match.
