PICK IN PLAY SETTLEMENT
. ITALIAN SERIE A – JUVENTUS (EACH-WAY). The Old Lady began the season brightly but might end it without a place in the top four. 6.00 points lost for nuggets readers.
. PREMIER LEAGUE RELEGATION – BLACKBURN. Sam Allardyce comfortably steered Blackburn away from any relegation worries off the back of strong home form. 1.50 points lost.
. ARGENTINIAN CLAUSURA – BOCA JUNIORS. Conceding injury time goals in three of their first five matches seemed to sap the confidence from Boca early on. And an on-going dispute between Juan Roman Riquelme and Martin Palermo didn’t help matters either. Abel Alves’s tenure in charge at La Bombonera was short lived and Guillermo Barros Schelotto has been sounded out to take over for the Apertura. 4.00 points lost for the Golden Nuggets.
LAST WEEK RECAP
. REAL VALLADOLID v SEVILLA – SEVILLA. Valladolid helped their chances of La Liga survival with a 2-1 win. 2.00 points lost.
. ATLETICO MADRID v XEREZ – TOTAL MATCH GOALS OVER 2.5. Xerez upset Atletico 2-1 at the Vicente Calderon which provided the Golden Nuggets with 2.40 points.
. PORTSMOUTH v ASTON VILLA – ASTON VILLA. Aston Villa came from behind to record a deserved 2-1 victory. 2.31 points gained for the Golden Nuggets.
THIS WEEK’S NUGGETS
Southampton v Oldham

Tuesday April 20th 19.45 (GMT)
Southampton kept their playoff hopes alive thanks to a last gasp winner at Yeovil on the weekend. The Saints were down to ten men but still pulled off the victory and they can continue their pursuit of Huddersfield on Tuesday night. Southampton have been outstanding at home with a 13-4-3 (wins/losses/draws) record and can boast the two top scorers in the league – Rickie Lambert and Lee Barnard. Oldham sit in mid-table obscurity and will be in for a tough evening against the form side in League One.
PICK: 4*SOUTHAMPTON BEAT OLDHAM @ 1.44 (TOTESPORT)
Bayern Munich v Lyon

Wednesday April 21st 19.45 (GMT)
RTE Two (19:00-21:45), ITV1 (19:30-22:00), ITV HD (19:30-22:00)
Bayern Munich host Lyon in the last four of the Champions League on Wednesday night with the Germans looking to take a lead to France for the second leg. Lyon have been resolute against both Real Madrid and Bordeaux in the knock-out stages of the competition after taking first leg leads with them. Playing the first leg away will pose a different challenge for the French side who have relied on the brilliant Hugo Lloris to preserve aggregate leads in the previous two rounds. Bayern put out Fiorentina and Manchester United on away goals after winning the respective first leg’s 2-1 and losing 3-2 on the road.
The Germans are in great form and put seven past Hannover on the weekend as they look to complete a historic treble. Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery have been in devastating form and they can help prise open the Lyon defence and ensure that the Bavarians travel to France with a lead to protect.
PICK: 3*BAYERN MUNICH BEAT LYON @ 1.75 (
Burnley v Liverpool

Sunday April 25th 15.00 (GMT)
Liverpool travel to Burnley on Sunday knowing only a win will do as they attempt to cling on to their diminishing hopes of a spot in next season’s Champions League. Rafa Benitez’s side were expected to challenge for the Premier League title this season, but have instead stumbled and fumbled their way through the campaign. Burnley boss Brian Laws has admitted that a return to the Premier League is imminent after a 2-1 defeat at Sunderland. Burnley lost 6-1 the last time they played at Turf Moor and although they will no doubt be looking to put in a better effort, the difference in class should tell again as Liverpool ease to victory.
PICK: 3.5*LIVERPOOL BEAT BURNLEY @ 1.60 (BWIN)
