The playoffs begin this weekend with the prize a place in next season's Premier League. Nottingham Forest have been the third best side in the division for much of the season and they can justify their tag as playoff favourites by at least reaching the Wembley final. Forest face Blackpool and although Ian Holloway’s side did the double over the reds during the season, the Golden Nuggets believe it will be Billy Davies’s side who will make it through the tie.

Forest have the advantage of playing the second leg at home where they are formidable at the City Ground. Away form has been a real problem for Forest this year and they only won four games on the road during the league campaign. Blackpool’s home form has been good (13-6-4 wins-draws-losses) and so it’s hard from a statistical basis to present the case for Forest winning the away leg. However, Forest have been preparing mentally for the playoffs for some time, whereas Blackpool squeaked in on the last day of the season. The Golden Nuggets will back Forest to qualify for the final and we’ll also back them in the draw no bet market for the first leg.
