Roger Federer gets a quick chance for revenge against Latvian hot shot Ernests Gulbis after falling to the youngster in Rome in three sets. Federer's clay court game started to click into gear last night as he cruised to a straight sets victory over Stanislas Wawrinka. Gulbis is trying to add consistency to his game and has done well in Madrid this week beating Albert Montanes, Mikhail Youzhny and Feliciano Lopez. Federer produced countless errors in Rome when losing to Gulbis, but those errors were far less frequent last night during a polished performance. Federer can win in straight sets and move on to the last four, and he can do so without the need of a tie-break.

David Ferrer and Andy Murray meet again during the clay court season with Murray in better form than when the two met in Rome. Ferrer won in straight sets but the match was a lot more competitive than the routine scoreline suggested. Ferrer has to work for everything he gets, when returning and on serve, and break point opportunities will be readily available to both players. Murray seems to be really enjoying his game once again, possibly thanks to the pressure being off after a series of poor tournaments. Murray is worth a shot at ‘upsetting’ Ferrer in his homeland, and once again, without the need of a tie-break.

The Overrule will be backing Federer to win in straight sets against Gulbis, Murray to oust Ferrer and we’ll double up on there being no tie-break in either match.
