We can only hope they don’t freeze again against Australia, knowing a win is required to ensure their passage into the last sixteen. Jovanovic’s player performance appears to be set lower than expected at 36. With the ability to play wide and upfront, Jovanovic top scored for Serbia in qualifying and has scored their only goal in South Africa. Serbia should be able to manipulate possession against the Aussies, who claim they will be ambitious in trying to achieve the lop-sided victory they need to have any chance of advancing from the group. If the Aussies are true to their word, that will leave space for Jovanovic and Milos Krasic to exploit. Krasic’s player performance is set 9 points higher than Jovanovic’s, and that doesn’t make sense since Jovanovic is the greater goal threat. That being the case, we are happy to buy Jovanovic’s performance.
