Carlos Tevez was Manchester City’s big transfer coup last summer and went on to be their best performer during the 2009/10 season. Tevez has known nothing but success everywhere he has been, he won everything there was to win at Boca Juniors, he went to Brazil and won the league championship with Corinthians, he almost single-handedly saved West Ham from relegation and he played his part in continuing Manchester United’s long held dominance of the Premier League.

Tevez scored 23 league goals in his first season with City and was consistently outstanding week to week. There is uncertainty over the future of Emmanuel Adebayor and negotiations for Mario Balotelli continue, but what is certain is that Tevez will be spearheading Roberto Mancini’s attack and is set for another productive season.

TOP TOTTENHAM GOALSCORER

Jermain Defoe scored 18 league goals last season and I fully expect him to be Tottenham’s most productive forward again this season. Defoe is a virtual ever present in Harry Redknapp’s ideal line-up and has been a prolific striker ever since he came on the scene as a teenager at West Ham. Robbie Keane’s future at Tottenham continues to be open for debate, while Peter Crouch and Roman Pavlyuchenko are left to battle each other for the right to partner Defoe on a consistent basis.

Even accounting for a spell on the sidelines during the last campaign, Defoe still managed to top the charts for Tottenham and only a prolonged absence through injury is likely to stop that being the case once again.
