Unsportsmanlike Conduct - Week Nine
By Sports MagicianBefore the season began we identified New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks as a player who would continue to develop and have a greater impact on the league in his second year. Nicks hasn’t disappointed with over 500 yards receiving and 8 touchdowns. He is on course for over 1000 yards receiving for the season and is now widely regarded as one of the most dangerous big play threats in the league. The Giants have a potent receiving corps that includes Steve Smith and Mario Manningham. The trio are able to provide mis-matches all over the field giving quarterback Eli Manning no shortage of options in the passing game.
The Giants go on the road to face the Seattle Seahawks this weekend and are coming off a bye which has enabled the NFC East favourites a chance to gear up for the second half of the season. Seattle will be without starting quarterback Matt Hasselbeck and are dealing with a number of other injuries on both sides of the ball. The Seahawks may well look to clamp down on Nicks’s influence in the passing game but, elite players find a way to get the ball even if they are receiving particularly close attention from the defense. Nicks has the capability to break off for a big play at anytime and that is why we’ll be backing him to have over 75.5 receiving yards on the day.
