Unsportsmanlike Conduct Week Fourteen

By Sports Magician

The New York Giants were expected to visit the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday but those plans soon changed after this happened at the Metrodome...

A snow storm caused the roof to cave in and thankfully no one was hurt or injured. Originally, the Giants were unable to get to Minnesota on Saturday and were expected to complete their journey on Sunday morning. The match was then put back to Monday night and moved to Detroit. What looked like being a nightmare itinerary for the Giants has now swung back in their favour. They will be playing a road game in what is likely to be a friendly environment. Due to the adverse weather it is unlikely many or even any Vikings fans will make their way over to Detroit - where entry will be free to the locals, who will no doubt be supporting the Giants rather than their division rivals, the Vikings.

The delay has also enabled the Giants extra time to see if star wide receivers Hakeem Nicks and Steve Smith are fit to play. Both were expected to participate on Sunday and the extra 30 or so hours will only help their chances of being on the field. Brett Favre is hoping to continue his consecutive games streak, which currently stands at 297. However, reports suggest he has already told teammates that he won’t be able to play - which is actually a bad thing for the Giants, who will instead face the more mobile Tarvaris Jackson.

Eli Manning has never won a game against the Vikings, but that will change on Monday night as a Giants team that is getting healthy at the right time push on in search of winning the NFC East. The Giants have been strong against the run for most of the season and will need to continue that against Adrian Peterson. Providing the Giants don’t allow Peterson to run wild, Tom Coughlin’s men have too much talent on both sides of the ball not to emerge victorious.
