Unsportsmanlike Conduct - Week Sixteen
By Sports MagicianJimmy Clausen on the road in Pittsburgh in snowy conditions is a recipe for disaster for the Carolina Panthers rookie. Earlier in the season I expressed my belief that Clausen will not develop into an NFL calibre starting quarterback and he has shown nothing this season to make me question that assessment. It’s only his first year and a rookie year is a very difficult for one for any quarterback, even ones that went on to become Hall of Famers. The fact that the Panthers are likely to have the number one pick in next year’s draft is bad news for Clausen, as Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck is likely to be the number one selection. Luck is a player I believe will have no problem becoming a durable and consistent performer and that is exactly the kind of stability Carolina need at the position.
Clausen’s passing yards mark is set at 170, which is a very low number. However, as low as that number is, and even with Troy Polamalu being absent through injury, this promises to be a torrid night for the former Notre Dame quarterback and will no doubt feel the force from the likes of James Harrison and LaMarr Woodley.
