TRANMERE ROVERS V MILLWALL
11th October 2008 - 15:00 BST

With all of the International shenanigans going on it has somewhat crippled the domestic punting opportunities this weekend so I just want to focus on just a single match, The Lions of Millwall travel to the Wirral to take on Tranmere Rovers.
Last week saw a slightly surprising hammering dished out to Millwall at home against the MK Dons and it seems that every bookie in the land has decided that the great start was just fluke and that normality will resume. It is my view that this opinion is very short sighted and that in the long term in this tough division, physical teams like Millwall will do pretty well as they have a pretty solid team throughout and will win a lot of close encounters more often than not.
To see Tranmere as 2.3 best priced favourites is quite laughable really and shows that the bookies have overreacted to the MK Dons loss for Wall.
In terms of stats in this season thus far won two and lost two of their opening four home matches which gives them a 50% win percentage at home but their opponents are two wins, a draw and a defeat from their four away matches which gives them a 50% winning record away from home and just a 25% loss record.
Tranmere are a pretty ordinary side on the whole and may struggle to control the game, particularly when you consider that their main striker and best player Tresor Kandol returns from suspension. Kandol is a real handful for any defence and the shaky Rovers back line could be in for a tough afternoon.
Because I am not quite sure how much the loss to the MK Dons will have affected the Lions I think it is best to keep the draw on our side so look to Canbet's +0.5 alternative Asian Handicap for some joy. I am not necessarily certain that Millwall will win but I am very confident that they won't lose.
Bet365 offer an interesting "3 Star Lions-Millwall To Score 3 Or More" market and it is one of interest to me for sure given the relatively gung-ho approach of Tranmere at times which could leave them open to attack.

RECOMMENDATIONS - 4 Points on Millwall +0.5 Asian Handicap @ 1.7 (Canbet)
1 Point on Milwall to score three or more goals @ 8 (Bet365)
