Article: MLB SUPER SUNDAY
Streaking teams can be a real god send for any punter and today looks like no exception to this rule. I am not usually a fan of the handicap bet in baseball but I have found two matches where I think you can find some value in backing a team to win by at least two runs.
KANSAS CITY ROYALS (Hochevar 5-6, 4.91)@ TAMPA BAY RAYS (Shields 6-5, 3.70)
The Rays have been hot in every sense of the word this season. They are leading a division that includes the star-studded Red Sox and Yankees, which is no mean feat of course but it is the manner in which they are doing it that seems to have captured peoples imagination. The Rays have no obvious superstars but much like the LA Angels, they make the most of every percentage ability that they have and in such a division, you would imagine they are the choice for the unaffiliated.
Luke Hochevar has been fairly solid for the Royals this season but with an unreliable offensive unit behind him and stepping up against a team that recently swept the Red Sox and is on a six game winning streak, I feel he may be in a real tough spot tonight and if he goes early, the pretty ordinary bullpen of the Royals may well be overstretched.
STAR MAN
Carl Crawford (.285, 8HR, 46RBI, 22SB) TB Rays
RECOMMENDATION - 3 pts stake on TB Rays -1.5 Runs Asian HC @ 2.08 (Coral)
FLORIDA MARLINS (Hendrickson 7-7, 6.12) @ COLORADO ROCKIES (Cook 11-5, 3.38)
The Rockies have been so infuriating to follow from a betting and viewing point of view this season. It is clear to see tha the Rockies have a fantastic offensive unit when you just run through the names on a standard team sheet (Helton, Holliday, Hawpe, Atkins etc) and with them having a pretty poor and unsettled pitching rotation, it is clear that if the offense fails, the Rockies lose.
We can go on about how poor the Rockies rotation has been this season, but there has been one constant and his name is Aaron Cook. Cook has been fantastic all season and hasn't always got the run support he deserves, but if you look at the stats without him, the Rockies are a frankly abysmal 26-46.
After belting eighteen runs on Friday night and twelve runs last night it is fair to say that the Rox bats are pretty hot right now, and when you consider that they are facing up against a man with an ERA of over 6 per 9 innings and have the on-fire Cook taking the mound for them this is a bit of a no-brainer.
STAR MAN
Matt Holliday (.342, 13HR, 49RBI, 10SB) Colorado Rockies
RECOMMENDATION - 4 pts stake on Colorado Rockies -1.5 Runs Asian HC @ 2.05 (Canbet)
Hope you all have a very profitable and prosperous Sunday. Happy punting.
