Article: Huddersfield Giants v Warrington Wolves

The Super League has produced some absorbing contests in recent weeks, and one of the best we have seen so far this season occurred last week in the live Warrington v Bradford clash. The match seemed to prove a potential turning point for a Warrington side which has been known to lack a mental edge in recent seasons - 'Wire' came back from a 12-0 early deficit and several personal mistakes and setbacks to win 32-28 in what was a pretty poor performance.
It is said that the best teams are those that can grind out a victory when they play badly and although grinding is certainly never a word you would associate with this resurgent Wolves unit, you cannot fault the impact that Jimmy Lowes has had since he took over from previous coach, Paul Cullen.
Huddersfield are a team completely lacking in direction. Previous boss Jon Sharp was a popular figure with the Giants faithful but the club were having a pretty dreadful season and have failed to gain any sort of momentum. A real lack of confidence is running through the team right now and with a pretty healthy and confident Warrington coming to town leaves me in now doubt over who should win this contest.
A best price of 1.5 to win this encounter in eighty minutes doesn't quite seem like good value so look to the half time-full time market for a little more joy. If Huddersfield are not on their mettle then this could be a rout but with Warrington being a team that tends to build up comfortable leads and then let the opposition gain some modicum of respectability, I will leave the handicap alone.
Matt King is starting to find some real form at last for the Wolves and I would be looking for him to score at least one try today. There is a bit more value in backing King over the slightly under priced Kevin Penny who can be very hit and miss. King has gone over the whitewash four times in his last three outings and therefore stands out.
My one and only word of caution would be that Huddersfield have just appointed a new coach, Nathan Brown. Brown, formerly of St Geroge Illwarra Dragons in the NRL, will not realistically have had time to input any real lasting effect on his new team so I doubt that this will be a huge factor.

RECOMMENDATION - 4 Points Stake on Warrington HT / Warrington FT @ 1.98 (Betfair)
3 Points Stake Matt King Any time Try Scorer @ 2.25 (Skybet)
