Article: MLB SUPER SUNDAY
On what seems a pretty desperate card tonight there is one potential little gem to be accepted. Look to Colorado Rockies playing at Florida Marlins in Miami.
COLORADO ROCKIES (Rusch 4-3, 5.70) @ FLORIDA MARLINS (Olsen 6-6, 4.04)
Sunday 3rd August 2008, 6:10pm UK Time
With the two hitting units on display tonight you could be forgiven for thinking that it could be a slugfest, with the red-hot Holliday and co eager to tie the series for the Rockies and the Marlins offense packed with hitters like Cantu, Uggla and Ramirez seeking to close out a 3-1 series victory.
I think there could be a good amount of runs tonight but certainly not the ten mark quoted by several major bookmakers. Glendon Rusch had an absolutely awful start to his season for the Rockies and therefore has bad stats, but you look at his recent performances in terms of wins and earned run average, he has improved beyond belief.. His opponent Scott Olsen is looking more and more like a mr dependble for this Marlins unit that has been starved of consistency in recent season, he could be around for a while not necessarily because he will set the world alight but because he will nearly always guarantee you as many wins as losses through sheer solid pitching.
It is tough to separate these two teams as they are so evenly matched at the moment so it is best to check out the alternative market of total runs. VCBet offer 1.83 on their being less than ten runs scored, and another good thing with that is that you have the luxury of your cash back if exactly ten runs are scored, happy days.
Matt Holliday hit two home runs last night in the Rockies 3-5 reverse to the Fish last night and therefore is a batsmen in prime form and should be feared.
MEN TO WATCH
Matt Holliday (.348, 20 HR, 65 RBI, 15 SB) Colorado RockiesJorge Cantu (.290, 19 HR, 62 RBI, 4 SB) Florida Marlins
RECOMMENDATION - 3.5 Points stake on Under 10 runs (Tie no bet)@ 1.83 (VCBet)
2 Points stake on 5 innings total runs being under 5.5 @ 1.83 (Bet365)
Good luck, happy punting!
