MLB SUPER SUNDAY   

This card looks a pretty straightforward one for me this week. The New York Yankees @ Baltimore Orioles and the Tampa Bay Rays @ Chicago White Sox are the matches that I will draw your attention to.

NEW YORK YANKEES (Rasner 5-9, 4.93) @ BALTIMORE ORIOLES (Cabrera 8-8, 4.98)

In terms of pitching standard, Darell Rasner and Daniel Cabrera are pretty much equals. Both can struggle with confidence when they are put under pressure and both are capable of pitching brilliantly in order to shut a team out.
Bearing the pitching deadlock in mind, you should look elsewhere to see where the game can be won and lost. The Yankees have (barring Jorge Posada, who is ably deputised by 'Pudge' Rodriguez) got a fully fit offensive line up from which to choose from which has been a rarity for them. The return of Matsui is a very welcome one as he has shown by hitting two homers already on his comeback from a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
'A-Rod' was missing for a large part of the early season and Jason Giambi and Robinson Cano had terrible starts so it is easy to see why for a large part of the season the Yankees have been forced to struggle. On another note, the signing of Xavier Nady was a terrific coup for the Yanks and has only added to their presence.
I am by no means being disrespectful to Baltimore in saying this, but the Yankees pose much more of an offensive threat than them. Baltimore will be up on the deceiving seasonal stats (as similarly the Yankees are winning on pitching stats) but do not let that fool you.
I personally would have priced the Yankees at about 1.6-1.65 for the match so was very pleasantly surprised when I saw that 1.79 is available. I advise that you grateful accept this generosity and look to the big names of the Yankees to live up to the great reputation.

TAMPA BAY RAYS (Sonnanstine 13-6, 4.37) @ CHICAGO WHITE SOX (Buerhle 11-10, 3.91)

This match is priced up quite ridiculously. Bear in mind that the Rays have the best record in baseball right now and their pitcher tonight has thirteen wins to his name already, and couple these facts with another fact that the Rays are looking to sweep the White Sox tonight on their own turf.
2.5, YES 2.5 is available on the Rays! That is the biggest lack of price allignment I have seen all season. I personally would have seen it minorly in White Sox favouritism simply because of home field advantage.
I will not recommend a huge bet on this but simply to test out whether the bookies are spot on in their assessment or not, a small wager on the Rays is potentially a very nice one because there is very little in this contest.
Just seperately for one moment, I think that Buerhle is a pretty overrated pitcher on the whole and although he is a very solid one, he is by no means the ace that he is titled as being.
I do expect this to be a tight encounter so another wager on the first home run being a solo shot is also a potentially solid bet. There are plenty of men capable of hitting such a shot and an early one is always possible at Cellular Field.
