Article: The Golden Sprint
The past few weeks have seen really competitive races on the open race scene from Romford and therefore the reluctance to post any selections is that of the careful and selective procedure I have to make maximum profit.
Tonight see's the semi final of the Golden Sprint over 400m from Romford with three heats of six runners with two qualifying to the final next Friday.
I am very wary with regards to ante post betting unless I know the greyhound inside out and therefore I wanted to see last weeks first Round heats before giving my advice with regards to the eventual winner of the Competition.
One greyhound impressed me greatly from last round heats and that is Glenroe Ginger trained by Barry Draper. This is the fastest greyhound I have seen out Romford for the last ten years and therefore I am advising a win bet on him tonight in the second Semi-Final at 20.48 and also a win bet ante post, which is hugely overpriced.
The race in question does have some fast sorts.
Droopys Bocelli trained by Liz McNair is more than capable of breaking in front but the Trap 1 draw for the middle runner is far from ideal, and is also in my least favourite one box. Staying the trip in this company is also a doubt. Best time of 24.10 and is very capable of a sub 3.65 sectional.
Robins Yank trained by David Pruhs doesn’t have enough early to both these and would have to find almost 2 lengths from the boxes to warranty a part in the race. One to keep an eye on over 480m-500m. Best time of 24.24 but trapping will let him down.
Glenroe Ginger trained by Barry Draper is the current ante post favorite after scorching round in 23.77 after a 3.50 sectional and tonight has the favored Trap 3 ping box. If being able to produce consistent performance tonight and next week this will go very close to being the eventual winner.
Fire for Effect trained by Chris Duggan is a very fast greyhound and also has a huge chance in the competition and is main danger to our selection. Would be a different race if drawn inside our selection and has posted a quick 24.02 in qualifying with capable of a sub 3.65 sectional.
Kingsmill Beau trained by patsy Cusack is a track specialist but has to overcome and horrendous draw. Best seen in Trap 3 for this middle to rails runner. Clocked a quick 23.99 in January but has gone of the boil since. If recapturing his form and making the final with a better draw be one to watch.
Droopys Tarzan trained by John Mullins will have to pull out all the stops to get involved in tonight’s race. The best drawn dog in the race but will have to use this to his advantage to get competitive. Best time of 24.28 for the distance but will have to tidy up on his trapping.Tip:
