Article: Friday Night At Romford
Betting opportunities in the past several weeks have been scarce largely to the number of maiden the Romford track has been putting. Races full of low graders from a numerous of tracks put in together and calling them a maiden is a sure sign of the lack of quality racing at Romford at the moment.
Tonight’s opportunity does come in a maiden in the 8.01 in the way of Trap 6 MONLEEK STYLE. A dog I have watched trial on the 9th June when moving off wide from Trap 3 and recorded a smart 3.71 sectional and then when drawn wide in Trap 6 in a 3 dog trial in which he missed the break completely but showed breathtaking back straight pace, both Times dipping under 24.40, that should be enough to win his first race on British soil.
Monleek Style has also posted 29.09 around Shelbourne Park in December followed by a smart 31.02 at Ballyskeagh over 526m in February showing our selection is also a strong runner.
His competitors in the race are all fast dogs when it clicks.
Riverbank Prince trained by Ricky Holloway just lacks a yard of early and is not a railer which should see him move middle at every opportunity up to the first bend, best recent time of 24.38.
Glenlea Lisa trained by Maggie Lucas will need her best break from this draw, she is blessed with early but any slowness from the boxes could put paid to her chances, best recent time of 24.29.
Yes Guy trained by Jim Reynolds is the main danger, tonight has the important ping box and is capable of 3.60 sectionals if leading our selection would have to turn a couple of lengths behind before wearing him down, best recent time of 24.28.
Tyrone Flyer trained by Jason Foster from Wimbledon is unknown but has posted a smart 3.81 sectional at home but the lack of a look at Romford will put paid to his chances. Unraced at Romford.
River Pride trained by Maxine Locke does have the tendency to move middle from this draw he a some early but have earmarked this dog for when connections put it in a maiden over 6 bends, best recent time of 24.51.
Monleek Style in Trap 6 should break smartly and follow Trap 3 around the first bend before showing good back straight pace to get in front and stay there. The racing Post have tissued it at around 4.5 which is way overpriced. I expect Monleek Style to go off the 3.0/3.25 favourite.
