Premier League Darts
By Profit SwingTonight sees the start of the premier league and as you may know we are trading in running the King v Lewis match which many think could be the game of the night. Do not make any plans for the next sixteen Thursdays because this is going to be one hell of a league this year. We have already previewed the league itself and we have two bets in the outright, King and Whitlock, so get behind those two everyone.
We will start off with a one point insurance bet on a lucky fifteen on all the games to finish a draw. The odds should be about 5.5 each match. I won't say we will do this every week but it is something we will be doing regularly and with first night nerves, most players would take a draw tonight.
Pick: 0.33 point Lucky Fifteen all games a draw Paddy Power
Terry Jenkins v Ronnie Baxter - Draw - 5.5
Mervyn King v Adrian Lewis - Draw - 4.5
James Wade v Raymond van Barneveld - Draw - 4.5
Phil Taylor v Simon Whitlock - Draw - 5.5
First on is Ronnie Baxter returning to the big time but I think he is going to lose in a big way to Terry Jenkins who is my best bet of night one. Jenkins looked back to form when pushing Taylor close in the recent players championship and loves the big stage which I think is the opposite of Ronnie Baxter. He has always looked ill at ease in this event to me and I doubt he really believes he will achieve much this year against the top players in the world. Let’s hope Jenkins gets our season off to a flyer
Pick: 4 point win Jenkins 1.8 Bet365
We are trading the second game tonight so onto the third game where I think Wade will beat Van Barneveld. Wade is an exceptional talent but has a point to prove with many in the game saying he lacks dedication but he will be up for this. I think we may be seeing the beginning of the end of Barneveld and think he may struggle to qualify for finals night. This could be a close one but I think Wade will edge it.
Pick: 3 point win Wade 2.2 Bwin
The last game is Taylor v Whitlock. We are already on Whitlock for the whole league and Phil Taylor has been bedridden for the best part of two weeks with a virus so it is an ideal time to play him. It is however Whitlock’s first ever arena match so I just cannot call it lets just watch this one. We are on the draw in our lucky 15 anyway.
Hopefully see you all in the Trading Room later.
