This Week's Golf
By Profit SwingWell last week's outcome was quick to say the least. All our players went out early on Thursday in a howling gale and that was that. However it was good to see Justin Rose back to form when finishing third, we will keep a close eye on him in the coming weeks!
The Florida Swing continues this week with a World Championship event at Doral on the course nicknamed the Blue Monster. It is actually tame now as the holes are not that long and the rough is light but this year it will bear its teeth as windy weather is forecast all week.
Our number one selection finished seventh last week when he putted like VJ Singh wearing a blindfold. It is Ian Poulter who comes here with huge belief. I would fancy Poulter strongly this week even if good weather were forecast so the fact he is now the best player in the World under windy and rainy conditions makes me even more confident.
Pick: Ian Poulter 1 Point EW ¼ 1,2,3,4,5 26.0 Bet365
Our next selection should relish the weather and has been placed third here and was a little unlucky last week after a two shot penalty for grounding his club in the water. The player is Graeme McDowell who can be a little flaky on Sundays but his price more than compensates for that and he may be another European who gains confidence from the likes of Poulter and Casey doing so well. He is desperate for a Ryder Cup place and will feel the Florida Tournaments are a huge opportunity to get him there. In my book he is a 34.0 chance so we must get on at this price.
Pick: Graeme McDowell 1 Point EW ¼ 1,2,3,4,5 81.0 Sky Bet
Our final selection is Retief Goosen who will relish conditions and has been very consistent of late. He seems to have rediscovered his putting touch and looks a very solid EW bet this week.
Pick: Retief Goosen 0.5 Point EW ¼ 1,2,3,4,5 41.0 Sky Bet
The coverage should be better this week as Sky have their own people there. It is rumoured there will be up to two shots shown before an advert break or mention of an airship!! Enjoy
