Wednesday at Cheltenham

By Profit Swing

Well Nicky Henderson has had a winner and Quevega stopped the carnage in the last but today is a new day and we have Kalahari King and Forpaddytheplasterer running for us in the Champion Chase ready to expose any chinks in Master Minded’s armour!!

13:30 The National Hunt Challenge for Amateurs

A tough race but I think there are two well weighted challengers worth betting on and more importantly with good pilots. They are Massosoit and Far More Serious both in great form and should relish the better ground.

Pick: 1.5 Points EW 1/4 1,2,3,4 Massosoit 10.0 Bet365 (Best odds guaranteed)

Pick: 1 Point EW 1/4 1,2,3 Far More Serious 21.0 Stan James (Best odds guaranteed)

14:05 The Neptune Investments Novice Hurdle

The two I like here are Summit Meeting and Manyriverstocross whose third in the Tote Gold Trophy was franked by Get Me Out of Here. His only bad runs have been when he has got stuck in the mud but today he can use his flat speed whilst Summit Meeting is tough and his been overlooked here as he hails from a small yard.

Pick: 1.5 points EW 1/4 1,2,3 Summit Meeting 13.0 Bet365 (Best odds guaranteed)

Pick: 1 point EW 1/4 1,2,3 Manyriverstocross 17.0 Bet365 (Best odds guaranteed)

14:40 The RSA Novice Chase

A no bet race for me Weird Al is a non runner and I can't back Punchestowns or long run at these prices given their jumping but I can't really put one up to beat them either. I think Punchestowns will win if he gets round but that is a big if.

15:20 The Champion Chase

Come on Kalahari and Forpaddy! The ground has come right and Kalahari is as well as he has ever been so lets hope he can go out and show everybody!!

16:00 The Coral Cup

This is as tough as you would expect but I fancy two Jonjo O’Neil horses who I think have been laid out. He has a good line on hurdle handicaps and keeps landing them this year.

Pick: 1.5 points EW  1/4 1,2,3,4,5 Shadow Dancer 15.0 Totesport (Best odds guaranteed)

Pick: 1 Point EW 1/4 1,2,3,4,5 City Theatre 23.0 Stan James (Best odds guaranteed)

16:40 Fred Winter Juvenile Hurdle

Often a shock here and I have had a big word for one at a price, its the Tom Tate trained Kudo Country so I suggest a small EW play but a lot of these have been plotted up!

Pick: 1 point EW 1/4 1,2,3,4,5 Kudo Country 29.0 Bet365 (Best odds guaranteed)

17:15 The Bumper

The Irish Benefit Race may be staying on this side of the pond as I strongly fancy two English Horses to go very close and they will act on the faster ground that may inconvenience many of the Irish horses. Al Ferof was bought for a fortune and sent to Nicholls who thinks it’s his best chance of ever landing this. He looked awesome at Newbury and should be favourite. Dunraven Storm beat Lushlife first time out and he beat Menorah on his hurdle debut and this one can continue the Hobbs renaissance. There is nothing to stop an English trained horse winning this, it could well be today

Pick: 1.5 points 1/4 1,2,3,4 EW Al Ferof 11.0 Stan James (Best odds guaranteed)

Pick: 1 point EW 1/4 1,2,3,4 Dunraven Storm 34.0 Sky Bet (Best odds guaranteed)

Good luck and lets hope for a great day
