This week we have a major bet on the European Tour and three value bets on a devilishly difficult US PGA Tournament at Bay Hill in Florida.

Some times in my line of work you spend hours trying to get an obvious favourite beat but not on this occasion when the claims of the favourite are so strong there is little point looking elsewhere. Alvaro Quiros is in the top ten players in the world on current form and has added control to his astonishing power. He has shown remarkable consistency in both the Middle East and the US. This is a very weak field and he will be desperate to win as it is organised by his friend and mentor Jimenez. I think Quiros can do a number on this field this week and advertise his Masters claims.

The Arnold Palmer Invitational at The Bay Hill Resort

We need to be careful this week as there have been severe alterations to the course since last year with all the greens flattened and altered. I have looked for Florida Experts who have form on similar courses to how I expect this to play (if that makes sense ) rather than looking at form from this venue.

First up is Sean O’Hair who looks to be slowly coming to the boil this year. He is a very solid player in windy conditions ( which are forecast for Friday and Saturday ) and I think he has major claims this week.

Secondly we will stick with Tim Clark who many of you will now think I must owe money or  that I have kept his cordless drill for six months. The truth is there is a lot in his favour this week and he has not played as bad as his finishing positions have suggested. This course has long par fives which most will have to play in three shots so negating any distance advantage and Clark can make his superb iron play count on a course set up like Bay Hill. It his time he repaid our loyalty!

Our last selection is Justin Rose who I said we would be keeping a close eye on. Rose is a Florida resident now and at last is showing good form. He has worked hard on his swing this Winter and ranks high in the fairways hit statistics and that will stand him in good stead on this course with water in play on many holes.
