Premier League Darts
By Profit SwingForget about the debate the real drama takes place in Aberdeen as the league enters its final phase. I think we may be in for a night of shocks as the pressure tells and finally I think we are going to see Phil Taylor beaten!
First on, Baxter versus Wade with both needing a win if they are going to qualify for finals night. We have supported both players recently and at the prices here we are going to side with Baxter. I made Wade slight favourite but you would think Baxter had lost a hand (and his throwing one) the way this is priced up. This could come down to a couple of finishes and Baxter has thrown the better of the two under pressure so he is the call.
Pick: 2 points win Ronnie Baxter 5.5
Its bow down to the King time next and I take our number one pick to beat Taylor tonight. It was a draw last time they met and put simply, over the last month King has played better darts and has beaten Taylor in the past. But more importantly it will be Taylor who gets booed tonight as in Scotland he is hated. Taylor does not like that and King can take advantage.
Pick: 3 points win Mervyn King 7.0
The resurgent Jenkins is up next against the woeful Barneveld. The bookies think Barneveld will raise his game for his adoring Scottish fans; I’m not so sure I think he has packed in mentally. Jenkins has two things Barney does not, belief and momentum. If he starts well he can take this.
Pick: 4 points win Terry Jenkins 2.6 Sportingbet
The final match sees our nap of the evening; it is Whitlock to beat Lewis. Whitlock has beaten Lewis heavily in recent weeks and may have his measure. I think Whitlock will feel he has to win tonight whilst Lewis may already feel the top four is beyond him.
Pick: 5 points win Simon Whitlock 1.9 Totesport
We will place a lucky fifteen on all games to be a draw with Totesport staking 1 point in total.
James Wade vs Ronnie Baxter DRAW @ 5.0
Mervyn King vs Phil Taylor DRAW @ 5.5
Raymond Van Barneveld vs Terry Jenkins DRAW @ 5.0
Simon Whitlock vs Adrian Lewis DRAW @ 4.8
Lets hope for a good evening, I always thought Sid Waddell should be Prime Minister anyway!
