Quail Hollow Last Round

Hopefully big Alvaro will have won in Spain by the time Quail Hollow gets under way. We have Dustin Johnson in third and Nick Watney and Rickie Fowler potentially challenging for a top five so we are in there swinging. We will have three more bets as three players stand out for me.

The course is proving brutal and if you attack it as some have tried you quickly run up big numbers (see Tiger for details). In light of that I feel the bookmakers have underrated the chance of leader by two Billy Mayfair. He looked comfortable yesterday and does not need to do anything spectacular as he is leading. Mayfair is a fairways and greens merchant and a two under par seventy would see him take this. He is overpriced because of Mickelson’s proximity and I still feel Mickelson is under prepared and that may well tell today.

Two outsiders I like are Steve Marino and Robert Allenby they may be too far back to win although it’s not impossible as its Quail Hollow but they are in with real place chances. Allenby is capable of charging on day four and Marino (who is a strong fancy for next week) just gets better and better and has a great last round scoring average this year. We will play them both each way.
