This Week's Golf

By Profit Swing

AT&T National

A fairly naff field tees it up this week including one Tiger Woods who is sponsored by the tournament sponsors. This is usually played at Congressional but that is next year's US Open course so is currently closed. Instead we go to Aronimik which sounds painful but is actually a short par 70 with only two par fives. I bet the Tiger is thrilled! The first rule of Tiger backing is never back him on a course with less than four par fives as it hugely reduces his chances of winning but the Bookmakers never take that into account. To be honest I would not have put him up had it been at the much longer Congressional so we will look further down.

Ricki Fowler came second for us at a huge price recently but on a new course to everybody and with his iron play in such good nick he is a confident selection this week

Pick: 1.5 points EW Riki Fowler 31.0 Bet365

Our second selection is Robert Allenby who is still having a great season and I think will love the challenges of this short tight track. This could be the week when he finally wins and if not is great value for a place.

Pick: 1 point EW Robert Allenby 34.0 Bet365

Alstom Open De France

This is played on a great stadium course just outside Paris (go if you ever get chance it’s amazing). Many of the top pros tee it up this week but I have a theory that the title will be staying in France. Gregory Havret's amazing second place in the US Open will have inspired him and all the other French Pros and with a boisterous home crowd I think one of the home players will win this week.

But which one? Well our main selection is Havret himself, he really did play fantastic golf all week and after some time off will be very confident this week on a course which will suit.

Pick: 1 point EW Gregory Havret 67.0 Boylesports

We will play three other French players who have the game to do well and could well be inspired by Havret's heroics.

Pick: 0.5 point EW Jaquelin 101 Sportingbet

Pick: 0.5 point EW Bourdy 101 Totesport

Pick: 0.5 point EW Levet 101 Bet365

It is also time for a cross tour double

PICK: 1 point EW double Havret 67.0 and Fowler 29.0 with Boylesports

All bets 1/4 odds five places and both Tournaments featured live on Sky Sports. Have a great golfing and punting week
