Wednesday Night Football

By Nishant Joshi

Manchester City vs Tottenham

Wednesday May 5th 20.00 (GMT)
Sky Sports 2 (19:30-22:30), Sky Sports HD2 (19:30-22:30)

The defining game in the race for fourth place this season, despite both sides coming into the game in pretty decent nick, Manchester City have to be the bet here at odds against. Tottenham have just picked up a paltry three points away to sides in the top half, whereas Manchester City's 12-4-2 home record is impressive, and underlined by their comfortable 3-1 win over Aston Villa at the weekend.

Fulham vs Stoke

5th May 20:00 GMT

After last Thursday's come-from-behind victory against Hamburg, Fulham have now extended their midweek home record to 12-0-1 this season, with the sole defeat coming in the 90th minute vs Roma. There is obviously a huge feel-good factor around the club right now, with a first ever European final to look forward to next year, and there should be a decent turnout for Fulham's last home fixture of the year. Fulham are 11-3-4 at home, whereas Stoke's 3-8-6 away record is nothing to write home about. Moreover, rumours of infighting, coupled with just two wins in their last ten games, mean that this has been a rather disappointing and damp squib 2010 for Stoke. 2.18 for the home win looks on the generous side.

Mallorca vs Real Madrid

5th May 21:00 GMT
Sky Sports 4 (20:55-23:00)

With a 14-1-2 home record and still needing to cement fourth spot in La Liga, this match could well turn out to be Wednesday's highlight. OK, so Real Madrid have won eight matches in a row, but having struggled to a win at lowly Osasuna at the weekend, 5.6 about the home win here seems too good to turn down as a spot of decent value.

NJ's Bets:

Manchester City to beat Tottenham - 3pts @ 2.1 (Betfair)

Fulham to beat Stoke - 4pts @ 2.18 (Betfair)

Mallorca to beat Real Madrid - 2pts @ 5.6 (Betfair)
