Unfortunately two of our ladies' picks wilted in the intense heat, with both Bartoli and Azarenka going down.

Azarenka's ousting means that her quarter is wide open, and I fancy a punt on Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. She's risen into the top 20 and certainly has the pedigree to make a deep run in an open section of the draw.
