Article: 1.01 Gubbed
Carnage in Beijing
The Olympics got under way with an opening ceremony we’ll be telling our grandchildren about. No doubt we’ll also pop in a deserved mention for the first 1.01 gubbing of the games, as South Korea came back from the dead to beat Russia in the women’s handball.
Russia - the world’s no. 1 side - led 16-13 at half-time, before extending their lead to 26-17 in the 43rd minute. Incredibly, South Korea fought back to score nine unanswered goals to level the score at 26-26. With one minute remaining, Russia snatched a one point lead and South Korea’s valiant comeback looked to be in vain. However, Park Chung-hee scored a final minute goal to seal a thrilling tie.
£18,596 traded on Russia at 1.01
GUBBED!
Until next week, happy gubbing, and remember to keep laying those 1.01’s!
