Flower Set to Sign England Deal

With England aiming to become the No.1 test team in the World over the next year or so, they will be delighted with the news that Andy Flower is set to sign a new three-year deal to stay on as team director.

Those placing free bets note how the Zimbabwean is expected to agree terms on a new contract in the coming weeks, with the England and Wales Cricket Board keen to secure his services for the long-term.

There had been rumours about Flower becoming India’s new coach following the departure of Gary Kirsten, but it seems as though he is going to remain loyal to England.

This is fantastic news for Andrew Strauss’ team of course who have enjoyed a spell of great success in the test match arena since Flower took over from Peter Moores in 2009.

Flower immediately guided England to an Ashes win on home soil in the summer of that year before helping the team become World Twenty20 Champions in last year’s tournament in the Caribbean.

We all know the main achievement under Flower though and that is the recent Ashes series victory in Australia. The 3-1 win ended a 24-year wait for victory down under and it was a series that will be remembered fondly for years to come.

Flower’s influence on this success cannot be underestimated, with his excellent relationship with captain Strauss playing a major part in the performances of this extremely capable England side.

Those placing a free bet on the England ODI side will tell you that there have been disappointments in the shorter forms of the game of late, but this takes nothing away from what the former Essex batsman has achieved with England’s test side.

Becoming the best side in the world is an extremely realistic prospect and with a huge summer coming up that includes test matches against Sri Lanka and the current No.1 side in the world India, it is good that Flower is set to commit to the cause.
