Roddick Returning To Form

Andy Roddick has started to show the form that was set to make him a force at this year’s Wimbledon tournament, as the American continues his strong showing at ATP Winston-Salem Open. The 28-year-old is playing some impressive tennis at the North Carolina event and it was too much for the Colombian Santiago Giraldo, as the South American went down 6-1 6-3. Roddick looked like he was getting back to his best at the Queen’s Club ahead of Wimbledon earlier this year but came unstuck against British number one Andy Murray who went on to win the AEGON Championship back in June. Those looking to Bet on US Open tennis should be watching him.

Unfortunately the American could not continue that form into the SW19 tournament and since then has gone under the radar, except for smashing his racquet and hitting a ball into the stands in frustration at a recent event in Cincinnati. Roddick has been able to transfer that anger into the power of his serves, which was evident in his win over Giraldo, as he produced five aces and only needed an hour and six minutes to secure the victory, and book his place in the quarter-finals.

With a frustrating spell of being out on the sidelines through injury, Roddick has admitted he has been working hard to build his fitness ahead of the upcoming US Open, which all gets underway on Monday. He said: “It’s tough coming off an injury, you tend to overplay and overcompensate. I’ve been trying to get my legs back during training this week.” Those interested in Betting on Tennis might want to remember Roddick's injury problems.

Roddick will be hoping he is fully fit when the US Open starts on Monday, and if he can keep up that aggressive serve, he will be a threat at Flushing Meadows.
