Wofman's Danish Soccer Roundup

A very interesting round 27 in the Danish Superliga with some very surprising results. It can be said as simple as this. The relegation fight got a bit more open while FC Copenhagen created a little gap to the two title chasing teams (Odense and Brøndby)

It was a perfect week for two teams in the league namely Copenhagen and surprisingly Sønderjyske who beat Midtjylland away with 4-2.

FC Copenhagen got the perfect week, they manage to beat Horsens away 2-0 while their two rivals for the title Odense and Brøndby shared a point in a boring 0-0 game. That means that Copenhagen now have a two point advantage over Brøndby and four points down to Odense.

In the bottom of the league Sønderjyske surprised everybody when they won 4-2 away against Midtjylland. That means that Sønderjyske are only two points from safety, so they are still alive in the fight, but I doubt they have what it takes to stay up.

Sønderjyske have a six-point game next weekend when they face Horsens at home. Horsens are only two points ahead of Sønderjyske so the game is a real nerve-wracking one for both of them. If Sønderjyske lose this game, they will again have five points up to safety; so it’s a game they cant afford to lose.

A game, which is also highly interesting, is Vejle v Brøndby. Two teams with different objects for the season. Vejle are with six games left two points behind Horsens, which is the first team above the safety line.Brøndby are as mentioned before two points behind Copenhagen and are also in a much win situation, as they need to keep the pressure on them.

Copenhagen have a tough test themselves when they face Aalborg at home, and that is a team they sometimes have a hard time beating. It’s surely not a clear three pointer for Copenhagen, not at all.Odense have a home game against AGF that is also a hard game, which isn’t easy at all for them.

Round 28 looks like this. My picks would be:

Saturday: Vejle v Brøndby (Brøndby win)

Sunday: Nordsjælland v Midtjylland (Over 2,5 goals)

Sunday: Sønderjyske v Horsens (X2)

Sunday: Randers v Esbjerg (Over 2,5 goals)

Sunday: Copenhagen v Aalborg (Copenhagen win)

Monday: Odense v AGF (Under 2,5 goals)

When the week is over, I do expect Copenhagen to at least still have two points down to Brøndby. I find it more realistic that Brøndby wont win their away game against Vejle then Copenhagen messing up their game against Aalborg.
