John Parry Looks for Form Ahead of the US Open
After a relatively disappointing season so far, England's John Parry now believes his game in coming into shape just at the right time for him to start pushing for trophies.
The Englishman had a successful final few days at last week's BMW International finishing with rounds of 69 and 68 to help him into 18th place after only narrowly making the cut late on Friday.
The 18th i Munich was the Yorkshireman best finish of the season after missing three out of his last four cuts but he now feels like his game is coming good ahead of one of the most important periods of the season. Those following the Open odds will wonder if he can make any sort of impact.
This week sees the tour travel to Paris for the Open de France in what on one of the toughest course on tour and then we move on to Scotland for the Scottish Open. This year's event has been switched to Castle Stuart in Inverness to give the players a more realistic test ahead of the Open Championship. The Scottish Open is the traditional tune-up to the British and with this year's event being played on a links course, it will provide a good indication of who's in form heading to St George's and anyone following the Open golf odds should remember this.
Parry made his debut on tour last year and picked up his first victory at the 2010 Vivendi Cup. However, his form has slid this season but he now believes he is ready to be back up there challenging again.
"From my perspective it would be great if I could sustain this form, particularly over this three to five-week period when there's the Alstom French Open, Barclays Scottish Open at a new venue near Inverness and, if I can qualify for it, the Open Championship at Royal St George's in Kent" he wrote in his Yorkshire Evening Post column.
"But, as I say, I'll go into this week more confident after the way I played, and scored, in Germany"
