RZ is supposed to be presented with no commercials (obviously never going to happen on sky, but even so) and I thought they did it terribly, I agree.

As a betting medium I found it very good, lots of sites seemed to carry extra betting opportunities and, as I don't trade NFL on Betfair very often due to low liquidity and general slow pictures on sky etc, I thought it was worth it - for me personally.

I don't blame them at all for ditching it (Actually moving it to red button is awesome, but that won't last)

I don't think it was hated as much as BF Forums made out, polls I've seen had about 42% in favour.

I think that number would be a lot lower if sky were capable of choosing the best game of the week rather than the game with the biggest named teams in it.

The betting angle aside, don't you think Sky's execution of Red Zone was about as bad as it could have been? As a beloved and at present distraught and angry Giants fan, I always watch the Giants, either on TV or online and have Red Zone running on a stream.

Red Zone is great, as an addition to a game, but not instead of one from a viewing perspective. The execution of the show was awful, adverts and running highlights while games were coming to the end of first half, as well as the shambles of Sky missing the end of the Giants/Eagles game.


I will be surprised if Red Zone returns on Sky next season unless it is in the form it is meant to be aired - without adverts. The backlash from viewers has already been quite damning and I got the sense Kevin Cadle & Nick Halling weren't too pleased with Sky's presentation of it, while having to tow the company line.

The advice you give about following US tipsters blindly can't be stressed enough. Especially if they just tip with no information - I think you are better getting as much information as possible and perhaps reading the thoughts of some of those you respect and then making your own mind up.
